ANCIENT PROPHECIES REVEALED

Ancient Prophecies RevealedOriginally self-published by Dr. Ken Johnson in July 2008, this book looks at 500 prophecies that can be found in the scriptures in the order that they were fulfilled. The version that I have is copyright 2010 and it is loaded with easy-to-reference charts and tables that group prophecies by topic or time period. The divisions include: Creation to Exodus, Exodus to the Rise of Babylon, Babylon to the Messiah, Messiah’s first coming, Death of Christ to the Dispersion of Israel, Prophecies about the Dispersion, Prophecies about Modern-Day Israel, the Apostasy of the Church, the Rapture of the Church, the Tribulation Period, and Millennial Reign.

The introduction to the book details and explains the nature of 7 different types of prophecies, including those that reveal timelines, those that are symbolic, and those that are dual in nature.  Continue reading ‘ANCIENT PROPHECIES REVEALED’ »

PATTERNS OF EVIDENCE: EXODUS

Patterns of Evidence_DVDNarrated by Kevin Sorbo, Patterns of Evidence methodically addresses the mountain of questions about the history of the Israelites in Egypt that are raised. Most researchers are quick to dismiss the story of the Exodus, citing a lack of evidence in support of the presence of Abraham’s descendants in Egyptian history. Thus, from the viewpoint of many scholars, the story of the Exodus under the leadership of a man identified as Moses in the Biblical record is regarded a complete historical fabrication of the Jews.

As one who believed the Biblical record to be a documentation of an actual historical event, filmmaker Timothy Mahoney was troubled by the preponderance of assessments that dismissed the Exodus record and the history of the Jews in Egypt as fictional. Seeking answers to the personal questions that undermined his faith in scripture, Mahoney interviewed numerous Egyptologists and Biblical Scholars on the topic, in an effort to present both evidence and opinion from all points of view. ANCIENT MESSIANIC FESTIVALS AND THE PROPHECIES THEY REVEAL

Ancient Messianic Festivals

This 170 page book was self-published by Dr. Ken Johnson in February of 2012. In it, Dr. Johnson details the principles of the 7 Jewish Festivals and the history of their observance. This isn’t “his” perspective on these sacred convocations, but rather the insight that he uncovered while researching each through ancient Jewish writings. Dr. Johnson also provides extensive information on the Sabbath, Hanukkah, the Wedding Ceremony, the importance of the New Moon, and the Red Heifer.

In each of these cases, Dr. Johnson deals with the topic from the perspective of the original institution of the festival and the symbolism that it was designed to portray. In our interview, he described them as “dress rehearsals” that foreshadow a prophetic event that was yet-to-come. In some cases, the prophetic picture was finalized and fulfilled with the initial coming of the Messiah, but the final 3 festivals point to the Messiah’s return and are yet to be fulfilled.

ANCIENT POST-FLOOD HISTORY

Ancient Post-Flood HistoryThis 190 page book was self-published by Dr. Ken Johnson in January of 2010. In it, Dr. Johnson explores the recorded history of civilization prior to Noah’s Flood and the historical chronicles of nations and kingdoms that were established after the flood, noting their founders and the family lineage of their founders. It doesn’t bog down in details and thus proves to be a fascinating overview of the annals of ancient empires.

One of the things that sets this book apart from others, which tend to provide similar material, is the initial identification of ancient documents and their origins. Why are certain manuscripts considered trustworthy, while others are considered contaminated with modern bias? Revealing sources and verifying the reliability of those sources takes personal opinion, ideology and bias out of the mix and leaves the reader face to face with information that sets cornerstones neatly and firmly into place. Once the foundation stones are in place, bridges of connection can be built from the history with which the reader is most familiar to the ancient history that waits to be discovered.
