YOU’RE NOT GONNA FIT…

Too Many Animals

How does Noah preserve 10’s of
1000’s of animals 2 by 2?

This is another cornerstone aspect of the story and perhaps one of the 2 or 3 most difficult issues to resolve. How exactly would Noah fit all the animals we have in the world today on the ark? Regardless the size of the vessel or length of the voyage, this question leads us into some basic math that is absolutely mind boggling.

In a web article from August of 2011, Science Daily informs the reader that there are “about 8.7 million (give or take 1.3 million)” species of animals alive and well in our world today. Aside from the 1.3 million headcount variable, the site goes on to acknowledge that less than 1 million of these have actually been described and catalogued (the number provided in the graph is 953,434 to be exact). Out of the 8.7 million proposed species, the site states that approximately 25% of that number would classify as marine or aquatic life.

THE SKY IS FALLING… THE SKY IS FALLING…

Planet-X-Y-ZWhat concerns you about
the way Planet X or Nibiru
is presented today?

Any claim of the impending arrival of Planet X is a guaranteed internet attention grabber. It seems there’s a new claim, a new date, a new bit of hush-hush revelation from a new insider every week. The fact that a multitude of countdown dates have come and gone over the last few years without a single ripple of destruction has no apparent impact on those who repeatedly proclaim that doom and destruction is just a few weeks away.  No one holds them accountable for their nonsense; no one calls them on the carpet for their absurd content. Their sites and their prognostications are just as popular as ever. Personally, I doubt that many of their followers take them as anything more than ridiculous entertainment.

BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO

PangaeaDid the ancient Pangaea continent break up as a result of the flood?

This is actually an interesting question in that it allows us to consider what the geological history of our planet confirms and then wildly speculate about things that we can presume fit the geologic model.

The proposal of a massive supercontinent in the distant past of earth’s history is credited to German geophysicist and meteorologist Alfred Wegener. He presented his theory in January 1912 and named the ancient landmass Pangaea. His theory grew out of expeditions to Denmark and Greenland, during which Wegener analyzed various rock types and fossils commonly found in each area. His studies led him to conclude that at one time in the past Denmark and Greenland had been connected as a part of what he termed Urkontinent – The Primal Continent.

THOUGHTS ON THE PRE-FLOOD EARTH

Cave MenWhat was civilization like
before the flood?

Was is primarily nomadic cave dwellers
or was it organized and advanced?

This frequently asked question addresses common perceptions of the ancient world. Was it comprised of brutish cave dwellers who were still trying to figure out how to hunt down and kill their next meal? Were they mystified by the wonders of fire? Was there a common language, domestication, or government?

It seems that prevailing thought swings to one of two extremes. Either man was very primitive in ancient times or super advanced beyond our wildest imagination. The first relies on the backdrop of mankind evolving slowly over time, discovering wondrous new things and expanding the culture with each new generation. The second option is laced with hyper-intelligent intervention from an external civilization; some say alien, others prefer angelic.

PRODUCE THE ARK, I SAY…

Search for It

If the flood really happened and a man named Noah really did build an ark,
why doesn’t someone just go find it?

This is a question that I’ve been asked a number of times in interviews, as well as private conversation.

As expected, the search for Noah’s Ark has a long and storied history. Expeditions have been forged from all corners of modern society as ambitious explorers from a variety of nationalities have become a part of the quest. As a result, the location of the ark has been established and documented several times. Many of the historical discoveries, however, have been forgotten or dismissed as forgery.

As modern technology and climbing equipment has improved, the area which plays host to the ancient vessel has become increasingly violent and unstable. From the first century onward, historians have identified the location of the ark as a mountainous area in Armenia. The ark is written about as a commonly accepted fact by antiquarians such as Flavius Josephus (Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 3, Paragraph 6).
